Nikola Gajić absolvierte ein B.A.-Studium in Internationalen Beziehungen an der Fakultät für Politikwissenschaft der Universität Belgrad. Zudem erwarb er einen M.A. in Südosteuropastudien an der Universität Graz sowie einen M.A. in Nationalismusforschung an der Central European University. Im September 2020 trat Nikola dem Zentrum für humanitäres Recht in Belgrad als Forscher im Rahmen des RECOM-Projekts bei. Seit Juli 2022 arbeitet er am IOS Regensburg als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Projekt "Konflikt und Kooperation im östlichen Europa. Die Folgen der Neukonfiguration politischer, ökonomischer und sozialer Räume seit dem Ende des Kalten Krieges (KonKoop)".
