CfA: International Autumn School 2026 in Yerevan

27.05.2026 Calls for Applications

The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS), and the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University (YSU) invite applications for the International Autumn School 2026 in Yerevan, taking place from 30 September to 10 October 2026.

The project explores how international law is interpreted, contested, and instrumentalized in contexts of conflict and political transformation, with a particular focus on Armenia and the South Caucasus. Combining perspectives from international law, political science, and area studies, it brings together co-research, co-teaching, and capacity building between IOS and YSU.

Calls for Application

Two separate calls for application have been issued: one for students enrolled at a recognized higher education institution in Germany, and one for students enrolled at a recognized higher education institution in Armenia. Both calls are open to students at advanced BA, MA, or PhD level with a background in law, international relations, political science, or related disciplines.

Applications must be submitted by 20 June 2026 to daad26@ios-regensburg.de.

For inquiries, please contact Yeghishe Kirakosyan (YSU): ica@ysu.am or Cindy Wittke-Hohlfeld (IOS): daad26@ios-regensburg.de.

The Autumn School is part of the DAAD-funded project, 'Contested Spaces, Fragmented Orders: International Law and Politics in the South Caucasus', as part of the 'East–West Dialogue' program, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
