Commitment to Equal Opportunities: IOS Receives "Total E-Quality" Award for the Second Time
The IOS has once again been honored with the "Total E-Quality" award, recognizing its successful dedication to promoting equality in the workplace. This esteemed award affirms the institute's ongoing commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all staff members through its personnel and organizational policies. The award was preceded by a decision from a jury of TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e. V., which evaluated, among other things, the IOS's equality concept that was revised in 2024. The concept encompasses family-friendly meeting times, childcare options, and personnel support for scientists who are experiencing significant private demands due to familial responsibilities such as child-rearing or caring for relatives, and who might otherwise struggle to reach important career milestones.
This marks the second time that the IOS has been bestowed with this award. The institute first received the award in 2021, which is valid for a period of three years. The award is presented by TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e. V. to organizations from various sectors including business, academia, administration, and associations that demonstrate a sustained commitment to equality. The association was established in 1997 by representatives of major German companies, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
