Partnerships

The Regensburg Library Association (RBV) is an association of libraries, archives, and documentation centers funded by various institutions of the City and Region of Regensburg. The RBV itself is financed by the City of Regensburg and Regensburg University.

osmikon is a joint project of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, the Collegium Carolinum, the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe – Institute of the Leibniz Association, the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies, and the Austrian National Library. It is the successor portal of the Virtual Library Eastern Europe (ViFaOst), an interdisciplinary regional portal available for use by researchers and academics from 2002 to 2018. osmikon continues the ViFaOst services and is continuously updated in terms of both content and technology. It is also the portal of the Specialized Information Service for Russian, East, and Southeast European Studies and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

The FIV, an information network for international relations and regional studies, is an association of ten independent German research institutions which have come together to form an information network. Its joint product is theWorld Affairs Online (WAO) database, one of the largest social science literature databases in Europe. The emphasis of WAO is on global and regional developments, foreign relations, trends in national security, economics, and social developments. The FIV makes information available for scholars and politicians as well as members of the public interested in these subjects. By providing information Germany-wide, the FIV fulfils one of the objectives described in the German government’s specialist information program since 1974.

The goal of the Digital Forum Central and Eastern Europe (DiFMOE) is to systematically make collections under threat of decay, and to some extent forgotten, accessible over the course of the next few years, to secure them digitally, and to archive them through an online portal available particularly to scholars but also to the general public. At the same time, the portal is designed to serve as a subject-related platform, with opportunities to exchange and discuss ideas and to publish work digitally.

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Bibliotheken und Dokumentationsstellen der Ost-, Ostmittel- und Südosteuropaforschunge.V. (ABDOS) is a consortium of libraries and documentation centers for research on Eastern, Central, and Southeast Europe. It is an association of institutions and individuals who acquire, collect, and make accessible literature from and concerning Eastern, East-Central, and Southeast Europe, making it available to those who teach on and research into Eastern Europe.

The ASpB is a consortium of around 1,000 special libraries (libraries and information centers in research centers, companies, state agencies, museums, churches etc.) in the German-speaking world.

The German Library Association e.V. (dbv) represents with its nearly 2,100 Members nationwide over 9,000 Libraries with 25,000 employees and 11 million users. The central concern of the association and of its bodies is to make visible and to strengthen be the most outstanding social role of libraries for culture, education and science.

The Bavarian Provenance Research Network (FPB)

The Bavarian Provenance Research Network (FPB) was founded in 2015 on the initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, Science and the Arts. The purpose of the Bavarian Provenance Research Network is to promote networking and exchange between state archives, libraries, museums and research institutes involved in provenance research. Currently, 25 institutions in Bernried, Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg belong to the research association.
