Südosteuropa-Bibliographie
[Southeast Europe Bibliography]
Publisher: The Institute for Southeast European Studies
Editors: Gertrud Krallert-Sattler, Manfred Stoy, and Gerhard Seewann
When the Institute for Southeast European Studies (SOI) began to work on bibliographies on Southeast Europe in the early 1950s, it was difficult to gain access to literature and book data from countries behind the Iron Curtain, not only because of the Cold War, but also because the research instrument that is most commonly used nowadays—the Internet—did not yet exist. The special value of the biographies that have been published since 1956 is attributable to their annotation of book and essay data, thus enabling a content-related search.
This particular series is not being continued.
