IOS Research
At the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS), researchers from various disciplines work on common research questions. The researchers are organized into the disciplinary History and Economics Departments, as well as the Political Science Research Group.
At the same time, the Institute's researchers cooperate, independently of their discipline, in the two research fields of "Institutionalization, De-Institutionalization, Re-Institutionalization" and "Mobility(ies) and Inequality(ies)". Many of the research activities are third-party funded projects. Another important institution for the IOS’ research agenda as well as the promotion of young researchers at the Institute is the Leibniz ScienceCampus "Europe and America in the Modern World".
Our research brochure provides an overview of current research projects at the Institute (published June 2022, in German).
