Description
Merritt Fedzin joined the IOS in July 2025 to conduct her doctoral research on non-state armed actors in conflict zones, with a focus on local perceptions of their legitimacy and how this shapes post-conflict peacebuilding. Her regional interest stretches from Eastern Europe to Western and Central Asia. She holds a MA in International Affairs from the Hertie School in Berlin, where she specialized in international security and conflict studies. She completed her BA in European Studies at Otto-von-Guericke-University in Magdeburg and has collected international experience in Amman, Istanbul and Brussels.
