Description

Olena Sinyavska is an IOS researcher within the framework of the Volkswagen Foundation scholarship for refugee scientists from Ukraine.

Olena Sinyavska is a Ukrainian historian, specializing in the history of Ukrainian lands in the context of the political, social and cultural history of Central and Eastern Europe in the second half of the 19th - first half of the 20th century. Currently, she is an associate professor at Odesa Mechnikov National University (Ukraine) and an employee of the Leibniz Institute for Eastern and Southeastern European Studies. Participant of international conferences and workshops in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Germany, co-organizer of various projects on the history of Southern Ukraine and Odesa. Olena Syniavska is conducting research in the IOS within the project "Ukrainian statehood, Russia and Germany. 1918 and its consequences".
