Last name till 2016: Daase

Cindy Wittke’s research is situated at the intersections of International Law and International Politics. In 2017, she became head of the political science junior research group (Nachwuchsgruppe – now: Political Science Research Group) at the IOS. Since 2019, she has also been principal investigator for the project “Between Conflict and Cooperation: The Politics of International Law in the post-Soviet Space,” funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF, 01UC1901 (PolVR)). From 2014 to 2017, Wittke was a senior researcher and lecturer in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz, Germany. Wittke’s work is based on previous positions and affiliation with several interdisciplinary research centers. These include Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood at the Freie Universität Berlin (2006—2010); the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law in Cambridge (2009, 2010); and the Center for Law, Society, and Culture at Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law, Bloomington/IN (2013—2014).
