Description
Artur Simonyan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) in Regensburg and teaches international law at the University of Regensburg, Yerevan State University, and the French University in Armenia. His DFG-funded project, Peripheral Historiographies of International Law: The Armenian Experience, examines how international law is shaped in (semi)peripheral contexts using multilingual, archival methods. He holds a PhD in International Law from the University of Tartu. His work appears in the European Journal of International Law, Hague Yearbook of International Law, Chinese Journal of International Law, and others, with a monograph on regional international law (Routledge, 2026) and a co-edited volume on territory and territoriality in international law (Edward Elgar, 2027) forthcoming.
