CfP: Health, Fertility and Gender Norms – Times of Crisis, War, and Demographic Change in Central and Eastern Europe

The 18th Joint Summer Academy on Central and Eastern Europe is organized by the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS Regensburg), in cooperation with Leibniz ScienceCampus “Europe and America” and the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES).

The academy focuses on the relationship between crises, war, and demographic change, examining their effects on health, fertility, and gender norms in Central and Eastern Europe. Keynote speakers are Sonia Bhalotra (University of Warwick), Pamela Campa (SITE – Stockholm School of Economics), and Christian Ochsner (CERGE-EI).

Junior scholars in economics, health economics, gender economics, and sociology are invited to submit extended abstracts (up to 2,000 words) or full papers. The conference fee is €236 (including single room accommodation for two nights, all meals, and coffee breaks). A limited number of grants to cover accommodation costs is available for PhD students whose participation cannot be reimbursed by their home institutions.
