ImagOst Project: Retroconversion of the OEI Card Catalogue of Hidden Images Complete
Although images are important sources, in their published form they are usually not searchable on their own. They thus become 'hidden images'. The ImagOst project at the IOS aims to catalogue such images and make them available for research on Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The first milestone has been reached with the completion of the retroconversion of the card catalogue of hidden images with over 15,000 entries from the East European Institute (OEI) in Munich, a predecessor institution of the IOS. To browse, use the 'iosbild' keyword in the Regensburg Catalogue's Free Search to view all available entries so far. Alternatively, to browse directly by place or person names, or other keywords, users should narrow down the search results and select 'Image' as the publication type in the left-hand column.
