Internship at the history department

01.10.2023 Internship

The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) offers an opportunity to complete an unpaid internship in the History Department. Interns will primarily gain editorial experience in one of the academic (journal) editorial offices: Jahrbücher für Geschichte Osteuropas, Südost-Forschungen, Comparative Southeast European Studies (COMPSEES), and Handbuch zur Geschichte Südosteuropas. They also become familiar with the department's general activities. Depending on the situation, interns may contribute to ongoing projects under academic supervision, such as research, event organization, and online projects. Internships typically last four weeks. Applicants are expected to be studying East and Southeast European History or a related field with a focus on Eastern/Southeast Europe, as well as to have good written expression skills in German.
