The EU-funded Horizon Europe project "Enhancing Capacities for Quality and Impactful Research on Transformations, Labour and Migration in Southeast-Europe" (RETLAMI-SEE) is coordinated by the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Banja Luka (FPN UNIBL). It aims to enhance the research capacities of this University and empower young researchers to conduct interdisciplinary research on transformations, labour, and migration in Southeast Europe.
IOS is one of the four project partners. It cooperates with - beside the University of Banja Luka - the University of Vienna, Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET) and the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts for RETLAMI-SEE.
The main goal of this three-year project is to build the capacities of early-career researchers and young PhD holders at the University of Banja Luka. The project is based on networking, knowledge exchange, and mentoring schemes that enable collaboration between researchers from the University of Banja Luka and more experienced researchers from the three European partner institutions. Additionally, RETLAMI-SEE includes a research component focusing on the transformation of labour in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the lens of migration, which will further enhance the scientific and research skills of FPN UNIBL researchers.
Through a series of activities such as workshops, mentoring programs, and study visits, RETLAMI-SEE will enable young researchers and administrative staff to develop new skills and expand their research capacities. One of the main outcomes of the project will be the establishment of the Research Group for Transformations, Labour, and Migration at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Banja Luka, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project and further development of international cooperation at the University of Banja Luka.
