Nach ihrer Banklehre studierte Birgit Biersack an der Universtiät Regensburg Volkswirtschaftslehre und schloss 1998 als Diplom-Volkswirtin ab. Im Anschluss daran war sie bei mehreren Unternehmen als Assistentin der Geschäftsleitung im Controlling und Projektmanagement tätig. Seit Januar 2016 ist sie im Leibniz-Institut für Ost- und Südosteuropaforschung für Personal- und Drittmittelverwaltung zuständig.
