Angelika Zausinger studied History and German Language and Literature at the University of Regensburg. From 2003 to 2006, she worked as a research assistant with a focus on Ancient History in Hamburg and Berlin, during which time she also taught at Universität Hamburg and at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. From 2007 to 2009, she was manager of studies and student advisor for the Department of History and, at the same time, from 2006 to 2009, she worked as a lecturer with special responsibilities at Universität Hamburg in the field of “general career skills” or Allgemeine Berufsqualifizierende Kompetenzen (ABK). From 2009 to 2011, she worked in the History Department as the member of staff responsible for planning and budgeting. She also managed the departmental studies/examination office for History, East European Studies, and Classical Cultures at Universität Hamburg and coordinated the field of ABK. From 2011to 2012, Angelika Zausinger was the administrative manager of the Osteuropa-Institut (OEI) and Südost-Institut (SOI), the predecessor institutes of IOS. Since 2012, she has been head of administration and managing director of the newly founded Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS). After the institute became a member of the Leibniz Association at the beginning of 2017, she joined the IOS Executive Board for five years from July 2017. As commercial manager and head of administration, Zausinger has overall responsibility for personnel, finance, controlling, and management of third-party funds, the secretariats, graphics, IT, and event organization.
