Angelika Zausinger studied history and German language and literature at the University of Regensburg.
From 2003 to 2006, she was employed as a research associate and tutor in ancient history at the University of Hamburg and the Humboldt University of Berlin. From 2007—2009 she was a study manager and advisor for the Department of History at the University of Hamburg. She was also an advisor for special tasks in the area of general vocational qualifications (Allgemeine Berufsqualifizierende Kompetenzen (ABK)) from 2006 to 2009. From 2009 to 2011, she was responsible for planning and budgeting as advisor to the Department of History. She also managed the studies/examination office for history, Eastern European studies, and classical cultures and coordinated the ABK department at the University of Hamburg. Ms Zausinger has been working at the IOS (and its predecessor institutes, the OEI and SOI) as administrative director/commercial managing director since 2011 and joined the IOS Executive Board following the institute’s admission to the Leibniz Association in July 2017. Ms Zausinger has been an alumna of the Leibniz Leadership Academy since 2024.
