Südost-Forschungen 81 (2022) published

21.12.2023 Publications

The 81st volume of Südost-Forschungen (SOF) has been published. The journal of the IOS, which is published as a yearbook, once again reflects current historical research on Southeast Europe.

This time there are 15 articles on 526 pages. There is a lot to discover, for example, the thematic focus "Südosteuropa ist tot, lang lebe der Balkan! Einleitende Bemerkungen über Positionierungen in einem interdisziplinaren Forschungsfeld", which was co-supervised by Jacqueline Nießer, Elisa Satjukow and Claudia Weber and comprises a total of eight contributions, mostly by young academics. Another highlight of the volume is the large overview article "200 Jahre nach der Griechischen Revolution. Eine Darstellung der historiographischen Jubiläumsproduktion" by Olga Katsiardi-Hering. It focuses primarily on academic publications in Greece itself and is probably unique in its completeness. The volume concludes with obituaries for Irène Beldiceanu-Steinherr and Marco Dogo as well as reviews of 59 books.
