Impacts of COVID-19 on Households in CAREC Countries: First Lessons from the ADBI Survey

At this seminar the preliminary results from the recent household survey conducted by the Asian Development Bank will be presented. The household survey was carried out in 10 CAREC Member Countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, and Pakistan) The survey was designed by ADBI and implemented in two waves in May-July 2021 and in August-November 2022. The household survey covers the following topics: children education, household finance, remittance, household expenditure, coping strategies, usage of financial technologies, financial knowledge, and financial behaviour and attitude. The presentation will also show the first results based on this survey regarding the post-Covid-19 recovery in the CAREC region and the impacts of Covid-19 on households' business, employment, and school education.
